The tour was funded by two grant funds, one by the National Endowment for the Arts (NIH) and the other by the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

The study covers four separate areas, including transportation for the entire duration of the study, the use of light rail to move people and equipment, and light rail to provide public education to children under the age of 14.

At this time, Transportation for America reports that most of the work done by the National Endowment program includes making a "key contribution" in the study to improving transportation options for children, including by implementing an in-ground public-access drive, moving the light, and placing at least 15 public transit users in the car for the night (though the project is not expected to be successful by end of 2017).

The study will be published in the November 2016 issue of Public Transit & Urban Design.
