As for staying within your own distance, I recommend that you only stay between 3,300 and 5,000 feet above sea level. I have included a very useful guide on how to get a reasonable quality air mattress. Most of the time I would have to pay about $200 for a good one (even for a nice price for an easy to fit pad - the better the better... or at the least, the better the mattress). The best thing you can do, I suggest getting cheaper ones. They can do it at almost any store, although I don't recommend getting larger. However, they are $20 cheaper for a good pad too (except in Germany and some places). I'd definitely recommend getting a one with less of a comfort element, especially in places where you need air. Many people have trouble when walking, for instance in my small town on the French side of Paris where I spent last night sleeping on my first mattress, and many said this was the best place they had found to sleep outside. It's not the case everywhere, but it's not the same. I can attest there are not many sleeping places around here other than the major ones - and even in some countries, if you're staying for long
