I was actually inspired to travel solo by Rita Golden Gelman (Tales of a Female Nomad) and I think she was in her late 50’s/early 60’s at the time.
travelling solo in your 40s and 50s, and I have seen it, sometimes to the point of insanity, in my 20s. I have never, in my opinion, seen anything that compares to it like it did. I do not think any professional who has the same background can comprehend this.

"It's interesting to try and think back at your teens, which was where most of the young people you had worked with at the time were."

Ms Pugh is keen to get her life back on track, even though it involves her first real job.

"I've been able to be with clients who I've known for a long time," she said.

"I've spoken to people who now call people I know "kids". I don't see that any of that is new or weird. I know the experience, but you could also compare it to a lot of things from my youth.

"I was involved in lots of businesses. I loved to get around, I loved living with people I had with me. I was active all my life. And I'd love to return and look back on all of this a bit more.

"But I'm too young for that. I guess when people say and do things like I've described, I have to put it through their lens and accept it. They need to know that we as young people had our faults and that that doesn't mean we shouldn't
